Mental Map
This Mental Map was drawn by a sixth grader at “Zavala Elementary School” as part of a project conducted to measure a child’s awareness and understanding of environmental hazards. The project required that students draw a Mental Map of their route from school to home and to mark the places along that route that they liked or disliked. This sixth grader has outlined several key features that he or she encounters on his or her route to school, including sidewalks, street corners, homes, and greenery, but apparently has not marked his or her likes or dislikes along this route.
